As with previous release, GothVille provides a unified and easy-to-use framework for delivering dark scene content for people dressed in black of all kinds. GothVille! 2.0 has many new features. You can find them below, and you'll find the features of the past in a new environment. Those who are a member from day one, you will notice some of your request perhaps? Perhaps it isn't what you had in mind, please let us know. The goals for 2.0 GothVille are to:Improve usabilitySubstantially improve usability, manageability, and scalability far beyond the original GothVille foundations. Ok, it is hard to hide. But we are a bit nerdy on techniques. So we might be sometimes a bit to complicated, but a hard way of living is also a way of living... More newsMore news from the scene. Gothic as a lifestyle, music preference or a way of living. News from the scene can be everything whatever a dark soul could interest. Maybe you only like just a part of one of the sub genres our radio streams. Reading about events and people living a black dressed life could be neat, even for mainstream, duh? Better DJ FeaturesA better DJ interface so more people can use this little neat gadget on this site.Beside a registered DJ, regular mortals who are registered can also try to program a show. At the time of this writing not yes completed, but we're almost there... Enhance content deliveryEnhance the content delivery, template and presentation capabilities to support accessibility standards and content delivery to any destination. In other words, we had a need for more possebilities to present our news... More and better contact with bands and labelsGetting in touch with bands and labels to promote their work. During the last years of GothVille we had the change to make contact with several bands and labels. The only problem was a lack of time to pay all the attention they deserve for making their news visible on-line. We have now setup some better guidelines for our own people to keep the contact as dark as possible. More community featuresGet loose of the crappy interface for blogging, chatting and discussions in a forum, see the new GothVille.Net project. The current Beta release is not what we intented to reach, but it will give you an idea. We still believe in a real dark international community platform, but are waiting on the final software release somewhere by the end of 2009... Multi-LangualGothVille started as a English only site. We wanted to reach the Goth's from all over the world. We thought it would be nice to give it a try in bringing our message in more languages. Ok, we're not native English, and surely no experts in translations. But we wanna give it a dark shot.... |
